Ceramic workshop: mug

In short:

Shape your own mug or cup during this ceramic workshop. We will work with the hand-squeezing technique (from the Crooked Garden teaching method). Because we work with our own bodies, and not with a potter's wheel, each cup is unique and completely tailored to you!

What is the hand grip technique?

The hand pinching technique is an age-old technique in ceramics where you pinch the clay with your hands and fingers and shape it into the desired shape. During the workshop you will be guided step by step in the process of building your mug using this technique. You can play with the thickness of the walls, the shape and the handle to create a mug that suits you completely. There is also the possibility to make a painting with underglaze. Want to keep it nice and basic? Then choose from one of the beautiful high-quality and food-safe glazes, so that you can use your mug endlessly and even easily clean it in the dishwasher.

How long: The workshop lasts +/- 1.5 hours

And after the workshop: I will glaze the cups very carefully, so that you can pick up your cup after about 5 weeks.
